Well, in case you haven’t heard..Odyssey of the Mind’s Delaware State Finals was a great day to be a Spartan!! Successful Performances by all teams!!!!! And five of those performances turned into invitations to World Finals! At Worlds, they’ll compete against teams from across the country and around the world and, most importantly enjoy making new friends!!
Congratulations to:
State Champions – Team Cimo/Acevedo from LF East and LF Central. These 1st through 4th graders not only had the highest weight held in Structure-Division 1 with 605 pounds, but they also took top score in STYLE. And to put things in perspective, none of the middle school teams and only one of the high school teams held more than their structure did!!!
State Champions – Team Argo’s Chipman Vehicle Students (6 of 7 from last year’s championship team) are headed back to World Finals for Redemption after having the top solution in their division and second highest of all vehicle teams yesterday along with second highest Style and Spontaneous Scores!
Runners Up – Team Hudran/McGrellis’s Chipman Vehicle Students were bolstered by strong Spontaneous Scores in addition to a successful vehicle solution.
Runners Up – Team Bishop’s High Schoolers (5 of whom are repeat Vehicle World Finalists) may not have had to beat out competition, but that doesn’t diminish their feat. I would have put their skills up to the challenge on any year.
Runners Up – Team Martinez’s High School Seniors Plus One had the most riding on the day as it was the last chance for 2 of them to win a trip to World Finals for their first time ever. They had the highest scored solution for long term and style to make sure it happened!!
And now the countdown is on. We have until we leave on May 21st for World Finals to raise over $30,000!! Keep an eye on this page for our fundraising events, and please consider helping us out by donating at the link below. Thanks so much!!
